Participation of Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Informal Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, 6 November 2020

South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Informal Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, was held in Antalya on 6 November 2020, chaired by Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized in the meeting that we would enhance cooperation based on our experiences during the pandemic, that our problems could not be solved by building walls at our borders, and that on the contrary, bonds between our countries should be strengthened.

Later, Minister Çavuşoğlu held Turkey-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Croatia Trilateral Consultation Mechanism meeting with Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlic Radman of Croatia.

Minister Çavuşoğlu underlined that we would further strengthen our economic, political and cultural ties, and that we were working for enhancing stability and prosperity in the region through multilateral cooperation.

On the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu held Turkey-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Serbia Trilateral Consultation Mechanism meeting with Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic of Serbia.

Minister Çavuşoğlu noted that political stability and economic prosperity went hand in hand, and that Sarajevo-Belgrade Highway was a significant Peace Project and that it would generate important investments.

Later, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlic Radman of Croatia, and evaluated our bilateral relations and regional issues.

Minister Çavuşoğlu expressed that with Croatia we wished to establish the Joint Economic and Trade Commission and revitalize the Joint Economic Commission.

Later that day, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani of North Macedonia and congratulated him once again on his appointment.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that we would develop our cooperation in every field particularly in the fight against terrorism and defence, and that we would work together to increase our trade volume up to 1 billion US Dollars.

Then, Minister Çavuşoğlu held a fruitful meeting with Acting Foreign Minister Gent Cakaj of Albania.

Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized the importance of concrete cooperation in fight against terrorism, that Turkey was the largest foreign investor in Albania, and that we would further develop cooperation in all fields, including in defense and economy.

Finally, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and signed two MoUs on cooperation between our Ministries in the fields of diplomatic archives and protocol.

Minister Çavuşoğlu also noted that our strong support to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s stability and unity would continue.
