Meeting of Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu with Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto of Hungary, 30 June 2020

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu had a fruitful meeting in Ankara with Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto of Hungary on 30 June 2020.

Following the meeting, the two Ministers held a joint press conference.

Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that Turkey and Hungary had an exemplary solidarity during the pandemic and that we would improve our relations in every field, particularly in health and tourism.

Minister Çavuşoğlu also expressed his appreciation to Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto for speaking about European Union’s double standard.

On the same day morning, Minister Çavuşoğlu also attended the 4th Brussels Conference on “Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region” held via videoconference.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that at a time when the pandemic impacted the whole World, the continuation of international financial support to Syrians was vital.

Minister Çavuşoğlu also emphasized that the European Union should stick to its own values and respect the rights of the asylum seekers.
