Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu held a meeting in Istanbul with Javad Zarif of Iran on 29 January 2021.
During the visit, our bilateral relations were discussed and views on regional issues including Syria, Iraq, Gulf and South Caucasus were exchanged.
Following the meeting, the two Ministers held a joint press conference.
Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that it was necessary to contribute to make the ceasefire permanent in the South Caucasus, that we strived for the stability of Syria and Iraq, and that we wished to establish a tripartite mechanism with Afghanistan.
