Meeting of Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu with Deputy Prime Minister Sardor Umurzakov of Uzbekistan, 28 July 2020

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu had a fruitful meeting in Ankara with Deputy Prime Minister Sardor Umurzakov of Uzbekistan on 28 July 2020.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that we would continue to support brotherly Uzbek people in the fight against COVID-19.

Minister Çavuşoğlu also emphasized that we would further improve our cooperation in every field, particularly in transportation and defence industry, and that we aimed to increase our bilateral trade volume to $5 billion.

On the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu in a videoconference with Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza of Venezuela stated that we maintained our solidarity with Venezuela during the pandemic and that we were committed to further deepen and diversify our cooperation.

Minister Çavuşoğlu also participated in the videoconference titled “Leveraging the effects of the pandemic towards regional cooperation in Asia” co-organized by Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) in cooperation with S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS).

Minister Çavuşoğlu underlined that we all had to act together in the face of global challenges.

Minister Çavuşoğlu also met with newly appointed Consul Generals and diplomats and wished them success in their new assignments.
