The government of the Republic of China and the government of Mongolia have decided to establish mutual Representative Offices in each other’s capital as of September 1, 2002. This decision is based on the two countries’ desire to improve their bilateral substantive relations and exchanges in the fields of economy and trade, culture, tourism and labor affairs. On the same date, the ROC government established the “Taipei Trade and Economic Representative Office in Ulaanbaatar” to strengthen the above-mentioned cooperation relations as well as to enhance mutual understanding between our two peoples.
Located between Mainland China and the Russian Federation, Mongolia has magnificent natural scenery, unique culture and art as well as abundant tourist resources. Its development of relations with the ROC is therefore complimentary to each other. Based on the principles of equality and reciprocity, the ROC and Mongolia have decided to establish mutual Representative Offices so as to strengthen exchanges in the fields of economy, trade, culture as well as people-to-people exchanges.
