Official Visit of Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Second Minister for Education Dr Mohamed Maliki Osman to the State of Qatar, 25 to 28 March 2022

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs and Second Minister for Education, Dr Mohamed Maliki Osman, spoke yesterday at the 20thDoha Forum’s exclusive Ministerial Panel session titled “Perilous Waters: Peace and Prosperity in the Indo-Pacific”.

 

Minister Maliki highlighted the importance of stable US-China ties, and the need for open and constructive dialogue between the two countries, as critical to ensuring peace and prosperity in the region.

 

Minister Maliki also underscored ASEAN centrality and unity, and its vital role as a platform for external powers’ engagement of the region.

 

Minister Maliki also reiterated Singapore’s view that the sovereignty, political independence and territorial integrity of all countries needed to be respected and upheld through international law.

 

Minister Maliki will arrive in Singapore later today.
