“Israel” adds a new massacre to its criminal record

16-05-2021; 05:00 PM

This Morning, Sunday, May 16, 2021, “Israeli” warplanes have waged a massive wave of aerial strikes against a residential area in Gaza city. As a result, 33 people have been killed, including 10 women and 8 children, and more than 50 people have been wounded. In the meantime, the search is still ongoing for other victims under the rubble.

Those are not just numbers, as every number means a human being who has a life, a story, and dreams, while every house means a family and memories. Sadly, all of this has disappeared in a moment.

“Israel” has destroyed an entire residential area on the heads of its innocent civilians, and wiped out entire families without any regard to human or moral values. It should be noted that the targeted area is completely civilian and all the victims are innocent people, including doctors, engineers, women, and children.

Apparently, “Israel” has used in this aggression new weapons in order to test its impact on the bodies of innocent women and children.

This barbaric aggression has caused immense destruction in residential buildings, roads, and infrastructure in Gaza Strip, which is considered a disaster-stricken area due to the ongoing blockade for 15 years.

To obscure the truth and cover its horrible crimes, “Israel” has targeted the offices of the most popular media agencies, like Al-Jazeera and Associated Press.

Moreover, “Israel” has destroyed the headquarter of the Social Development Ministry, the responsible body for providing aid to the displaced people during the aggression.

In the meantime, Gaza has become on the edge of a humanitarian disaster due to damages to power supply networks, and the lack of the fuel necessary to run the power generators. The lack of power negatively impacts water supply, sewage processing, health care, communication, Internet, and even media services.

Regarding this ongoing massacre, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlights the following points:

  • First, “Israel’s” acts in Gaza are horrible crimes against humanity. There is no justification whatsoever to destroying residential homes while innocent men, women, and children are sleeping inside.
  • Second, we call the international community to exert pressure on “Israel” to stop its aggression, hold it accountable for its crimes, and give our people its rights granted in international law.
  • Third, we demand the immediate resumption of fuel supply in order to run power generators and avoid a humanitarian disaster in the strip. It is also necessary to provide protection for the technical staff and enable them of fixing the damaged power lines.
  • Fourth, we call for the protection of journalists and media staff, and warn of “Israel” attempts to obscure the truth, and cover its crimes by targeting them.
