Pakistan-U.S. Health Dialogue

The Health Dialogue included seven themes including: i) establishing a Pakistani Center for Disease Control (CDC), ii) global health security, iii) childhood immunizations, iv) COVID-19, v) bilateral regulatory engagement, vi) maternal and child health, and vii) non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Pakistan and U.S. pledged greater exchanges of information, expertise, and best practices in fighting diseases.

Pakistan-U.S. Health Dialogue was held on 25th July, 2022 at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC. Pakistan’s delegation was led by Federal Minister of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination, Abdul Qadir Patel.
The next session of the US-Pakistan Health Dialogue is planned to be held in Pakistan.

The U.S. appreciated Pakistan’s successful handing of COVID-19, for which the U.S. provided 61.5 million vaccines, and further announced that it will donate 16 million doses of pediatric vaccines for COVID-19, along with $ 20 million to administer and support vaccination efforts. The two sides reiterated their commitment to continue close collaboration in the aforementioned themes and regularly monitor progress in agreed areas of cooperation.
