The Foreign Minister had a warm and cordial discussion with US Secretary of Condition Antony J. Blinken yesterday. They comprehensively covered zwei staaten betreffend relations. Regional Issues of interest including the situation in Afghanistan were also discussed.
Both sides indicated satisfaction on the positive trajectory of the bilateral relations plus reaffirmed their mutual desire to pursue a broad-based plan.
The International Minister conveyed Pakistan’s gratitude to the US government just for providing humanitarian assistance of $97 million after the floods in Pakistan. He apprised Secretary Blinken about the actions being taken by Pakistan regarding rehabilitation and resilient reconstruction. He briefed Secretary Blinken on the International Conference upon Climate Resilient Pakistan being held on 9 January 2023 in Geneva to aid Pakistan’s efforts for rehab and reconstruction. Secretary Blinken reaffirmed US Administration’s continuing support in facing the challenge of reconstruction and rehabilitation.
