An elegant flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Pakistan High Commission, Rwanda. Notables of Pakistani community residing in kigali attended the ceremony. Messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out at the occasion. A reception was also held in the evening, attended by large number of Pakistanis and Rwandan friends.
In his address, CDA(a.i) Asim Ali Khan, highlighted the significance of the national day as it had laid down the foundation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent. He also mentioned to the great sacrifices made by our forefathers under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for the creation of Pakistan.
CDA (a.i) also appealed the Pakistani community to play an active role for the promotion of Pakistan’s export to Rwanda, projection of the soft image, tourism and using regular banking channels for sending their remittances. He also encouraged the new Pakistani start -ups in Rwanda.
