The Ambassador H. E. Ambassador Ali Javed offered his Letter of Credence to H. E. Qu Dongyu Director General As well as Agriculture Organization (FAO) with FAO, Secretariat, and Ancient rome.
Following the ceremony, the Ambassador assisted simply by Mr. Khalid Mehboob, Alternate Permanent Representative to FAO, DHM Farhan AliFirst Secretary andMr. Khalid Hanif Commercial Counsellor held bilateral delegation talks with DG (FAO) and his team in which the current cooperation between Pakistan plus FAO was discussed. He thanked DG FAO with regard to his participation and assistance for “Resilient Pakistan” meeting co-hosted by Prime Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) of Pakistan & UNSC in Geneva last 30 days.
The Ambassador briefed the Director General (FAO) on the situation of human and food security in Pakistan in the wake up of a devastating floods and the subsequent rehabilitation and save efforts undertaken by the Authorities of Pakistan in coordination with the international community.
The Director General observed that Pakistan has been holding largest portfolio of FAO and hence the relationship was most substantive. The DG particularly highlighted that this 12 months FAO’s financial and material commitment to Pakistan is one the largest in history.
The Director General suggested signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pakistan to further institutionalize and combine the existing cooperation between FAO and Pakistan.
The Ambassador invited DG FAO to undertake bilateral trip to Pakistan and expressed best wishes for his re-election for 2 nd term in office.
