Pakistan | Ambassador Ali Javed has presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Republic of Slovenia

Ambassador Ali Javed has presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Republic of Slovenia, Her Excellency Natasa Pirc Musar, at a ceremony hosted by the Presidency in Ljubljana on February 22, 2023.

Following the ceremony, the Ambassador was invited by the President for a bilateral meeting lasting half hour, focusing on the current status of relations between the two States. Both sides welcomed the recent bilateral meeting between their Foreign Ministers held on the margins of World Economic Forum in Davos and committed to maintaining high level exchanges.

President Musar, first woman elected Head of State on Slovenia, praised Pakistan for achieving this feat 3 decades earlier when late Benazir Bhutto became the elected Head of Government and praised Shaheed Mohtarma as her idol. The President also appreciated the skill and courage of Pak Army Aviators Colonel Baig and Maj Rana, for successfully managing a high-altitude rescue of Slovenian mountaineer, TomazHumar, from Nanga Parbat in 2005.

During his 2-day visit to Slovenia, the Ambassador also held meetings with the Head of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs focusing on bilateral and multilateral cooperation and participation of Panellits / Experts from Pakistan at the next ‘Bled Strategic Forum’ in August 2023.

Assisted by Mr. JenezJelnikar the Honorary Consul of Pakistan in Ljubljana, the Ambassador also met with notable members of Pakistani community in Ljubljana. There are 150 Pakistanis in Slovenia.

The Ambassador of Pakistan to Republic of Italy is concurrently accredited to neighboring Republics of Albania, Slovenia as well as San Marino, in addition to six Rome-Based UN Agencies including FAO, WFP and IFAD.
