During the ceremony, Minister Salam emphasized the important of the JEC as another step in deepening trade relations between the two countries and building stronger economic linkages for mutual benefit. The Agreement seeks the establishment of a bilateral consultative mechanism for strengthening relations and enhancing cooperation in the fields of trade and investments educations, science & technology, agriculture, tourism, information and broadcasting etc. In establishing the Joint Economic Commission (JEC), the two countries agree to exchange information for promotion of trade, mutual visits of business delegations, conducting market research and trade exhibitions on reciprocal basis.
