Holland earmarks €2. 5 billion dollars for support to Ukraine in 2023

In 2023 the Netherlands will make €2. 5 billion offered to support Ukraine. The government desires that this amount will be necessary to provide military aid, support essential repair and renovation activities and contribute monetarily to efforts to overcome impunity. The Dutch Cupboard approved the proposal simply by ministers Liesje Schreinemacher (Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation), Wopke Hoekstra (Foreign Affairs), Kajsa Ollongren (Defence) plus Sigrid Kaag (Finance). The actual allocation of the contribution is determined by the needs of the Ukrainian individuals, and therefore how the war originates in the coming period.

Military aid will be drawn from the Netherlands’ own stocks and purchased from commercial suppliers. Holland is committed to coordinating plus collaborating with other countries as well as the defence industry. This should enhance the effectiveness of arms deliveries for Ukraine’s armed forces while limiting the impact on our very own. The aid for essential reconstruction activities is intended to get infrastructure repairs (especially power infrastructure), hospitals, housing, agriculture and demining. The government is also providing humanitarian aid plus support for the rule of law, human rights and accountability. The amount set aside to get Ukraine is on top of the liquidity support totalling €18 billion being channelled with the EU and the cost of refugee reception in the Netherlands.

News product | 23-12-2022 | 10: 45 In the arriving year Ukraine will always need considerable international assistance. Russia’s war in Ukraine is still ongoing, and has changed into a war of attrition. Ukraine’s armed forces continue battling every day for the freedom, protection and prosperity of their country, and thus for that of Europe as a whole. The Dutch government’s decision to earmark financing now sends a clear message of undiminished solidarity with the people of Ukraine, who can count on predictable Dutch assistance for as long as it takes.
