Malaysia supports the Gaza Humanitarian Pause Agreement

Malaysia praised the humanitarian pause agreement reached on November 22 and said in an official statement that it was a step in the right direction toward putting an end to the tragic loss of civilian lives and easing Gaza’s suffering.

Malaysia expressed its gratitude for the United States of America, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the State of Qatar’s joint efforts to facilitate the agreement in the statement.

Malaysia urged all parties involved to step up their efforts for a permanent cessation of hostilities while welcoming the brief pause in fighting. Malaysia declared its willingness to actively support any efforts to bring about a fair and long-lasting peace in the area.

Malaysia vowed to keep providing aid to the people in Gaza, emphasizing its dedication to humanitarian efforts and prioritizing the welfare of civilians.

Malaysia also reaffirmed its guiding principle that Palestinians should have their own independent state, based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital.

On November 23, 2023, Putrajaya made the statement, which reflected Malaysia’s dedication to promoting regional peace and justice.
