Communication by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs on the abrogation of the temporary travel restrictions

Press release by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Hence, from 1 October 2022, third-country nationals residing outside the European Union or the Schengen area can once again travel to the Grand Duchy for any kind of travel, including for non-essential travel (i.e. for tourist or other reasons), regardless of their vaccination status. Details of the rules applicable for stays of less than 90 days as third-country nationals as well as the procedures to be followed prior to travel can be consulted by following the link. However, the persons concerned remain subject to the basic conditions applicable for the entry and stay of less than 90 days in the Schengen area, including in particular being in possession of a valid passport and, for persons subject to visa requirements in order to enter Luxembourg, hold a short-stay visa.
