Nur-Sultan, February 22, 2021 – Mukhtar Tileuberdi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, received Filippo Lombardi, the former President of the Council of States of the Federal Assembly of the Swiss Confederation, former Chairman of the Kazakhstan-Switzerland Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Swiss Parliament.
During the talks, the parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the political and economic spheres. In view of the special contribution of Mr Lombardi to the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the parties focused on the discussion of options for further interaction between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Kazakhstan, Mr Tileuberdi awarded Mr Lombardi with the Order of Dostyk (Order of Friendship) of the II degree for his contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between Kazakhstan and Switzerland.
