On the meeting with OSCE ODIHR Observers

Nur-Sultan, January 11, 2021 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Margulan Baymukhan held a meeting with Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Parliamentary Election Observation Mission in Kazakhstan, Jaroslaw Domanski (Poland), and Special Coordinator of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Kristian Vigenin (Bulgaria).

During the meeting, Mr. Baymukhan noted the constructive cooperation with the OSCE, stressing that the parliamentary elections held on January 10 this year in Kazakhstan were conducted in accordance with international standards.

Mr. Domanski positively noted the interaction of the OSCE/ODIHR and the OSCE PA with the government bodies of Kazakhstan, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and thanked for the assistance in organizing the work of the Mission in Kazakhstan. He expressed hope for the continuation of close cooperation in the inter-sectoral period with the government bodies of Kazakhstan, including on the basis of recommendations of the ODIHR, which will be formulated in the near future.

Mr. Vigenin thanked government bodies of Kazakhstan for facilitating the Mission’s work, noting the high level organization of the elections, despite the difficult epidemiological conditions, which is an example for other countries.
