On the 19th round of consular consultations between Kazakhstan and China

Nur-Sultan, February 25, 2021 – The 19th round of consular consultations between Kazakhstan and China was held in an online format.

The Kazakhstan delegation was headed by Director of the Department of Consular Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Akataev Bauyrzhan, while the Chinese delegation was headed by Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Cui Aimin.

During the meeting, the parties held detailed negotiations on topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of consular and legal issues, protection of the rights and interests of citizens of the two countries.

The parties exchanged relevant information on the current procedure for entry/exit and transit at the international airports of Kazakhstan and China for citizens of both countries.

In addition, the prospect of resuming the issuance of individual tourist and business Chinese visas to Kazakh citizens was considered.

During the consultations, the Kazakhstan side raised the issue of family reunification, consisting of citizens of the two countries of Kazakh nationality.
