Kazakhstan continues its cooperation with the Asian Development Bank

Nur-Sultan, February 10, 2021 – Mukhtar Tileuberdi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, received the newly appointed Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Nariman Mannapbekov. 

The foreign minister briefed Mr. Mannapbekov on the government’s current activities aimed at ensuring the social and economic development of the country and mitigating the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The ADB representative stressed the importance of the reforms carried out by the President of Kazakhstan to ensure the dynamic development of the country and improve the well-being of the population. 

The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the ADB in such priority sectors of the economy as healthcare, agriculture, education, support for SMEs, etc. 

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue their constructive engagement in all areas of cooperation.

Nariman Mannapbekov was born on November 10, 1965. He has a higher education degree in economics. Mr. Mannapbekov held various positions in the National Bank of Uzbekistan, the World Bank, the Cabinet of Ministers, and the Executive Office of the President of Uzbekistan. Before he was appointed Country Director, he served as the Director of the ADB’s Azerbaijan Resident Mission.
