Kazakhstan Chairmanship of the CICA transfers humanitarian aid to countries

Nur-Sultan, February 26, 2021 – As part of the joint fight against coronavirus pandemic, an official ceremony was held for the transfer of the humanitarian aid within the framework of the Kazakh Chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) to Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine. The humanitarian aid is sponsored by “HALYK” Charity Foundation.

The ceremony was held in the Foreign Affairs of the Kazakhstan, which was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shakhrat Nuryshev, Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat Kairat Sarybay, Director of the “HALYK” Charity Foundation Saginbek Shunkeyev, Ambassador of Palestine Montaser Abu Zeid, Charge d’affaires a.i. of Afghanistan Azizullah Omar and Charge d’affaires a.i. of Iraq Murtadha Mohammed Mohsin.

During the ceremony, Nuryshev noted that within the framework of the new CICA confidence-building measure “Epidemiological Security, Public Health and Pharmaceuticals”, Kazakhstan is allocating humanitarian assistance to friendly states, which emphasizes the special need for mutual support in the international community.

The heads of the diplomatic missions expressed their appreciation for the humanitarian assistance and noted the importance of further development of the CICA confidence-building measures in the field of public health.
