Iranian Foreign Minister Arrives in Kazakhstan on Official Visit

Nur-Sultan, April 7, 2021 – Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi held talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif who arrived in Nur-Sultan on an official visit.

The interlocutors discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation, as well as topical issues on the regional and international agenda. The Ministers discussed ways to increase trade and economic cooperation.

They focused on the need to coordinate joint work on the development of the Caspian’s region.

The parties also positively assessed the cooperation within the UN, CICA, OIC, ECO and other international organizations, and agreed to continue working in this direction.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties signed a Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Islamic Republic of Iran.

Later today the Iranian Foreign Minister will be received by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
