Deputy Minister received a visit from the Head of the CIS Observer Mission

Nur-Sultan, December 21, 2020 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Marat Syzdykov received a visit from the First Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Viktor Guminsky. The subject of the meeting was the opening of the Headquarters of the Mission of International Observers of the CIS in Nur-Sultan in the light of the election of deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan on January 10, 2021.

During the conversation, Mr. Syzdykov informed the representative of the CIS Executive Committee that open and transparent elections are important for the further democratic development of Kazakhstan. This year, the country has implemented a package of unprecedented political reforms aimed at developing a multi-party system and political competition, as well as increasing civic engagement. 

In response, Mr. Guminsky expressed gratitude for providing good working conditions for the observers. Mr. Guminsky stated that the CIS mission is determined to perform its functions in an objective and transparent manner.
