Ministry of External Affairs will be celebrating the World Hindi Day 2014 on January 10, 2014 at a special function being organized at the Foreign Service Institute, Ber Sarai, New Delhi at 5:00 PM. Hon’ble Special Secretary, Shri Navtej Sarna will be the Chief Guest on this occasion.
A Hindi Essay Competition was organized for foreign students studying Hindi, the winners of which will be given cash prizes and books as gift. Foreign students will address this gathering in Hindi and a brief Kavi Sangoshti will also be organized on this occasion. Foreign Students of Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra will present a Cultural Programme.
Ministry of External Affairs is committed towards propagating Hindi Abroad through Indian Missions/Posts abroad. The First World Hindi Conference was organized in Nagpur on January 10, 2006. Since then every year 10th January is being observed as the World Hindi Day.
