Visit of Vietnamese Foreign Minister to India for 15th JCM Meeting

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, H.E. Mr. Pham Binh Minh is scheduled to visit India from 10-12 July, 2013 for the 15th Meeting of the India-Vietnam Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation (JCM) on 10-11 July 2013. The Indian and Vietnamese delegations will include officials from a number of Ministries and Departments keeping in view our multifaceted cooperation.

The External Affairs Minister Mr. Salman Khurshid will co-chair the meeting of the Joint Commission with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam. The JCM will undertake a comprehensive review of entire spectrum of India-Vietnam bilateral relations and cooperation on regional and multilateral issues. It will set agreed targets for future cooperation and review our cooperation and exchanges. Key aspects of our strategic partnership include close defence and security ties, growing trade & investment, science & technology and information technology and enhanced capacity building, human resource development and cultural exchanges apart from interactions in regional and international fora.

The Vietnamese Foreign Minister is expected to call on political leaders in New Delhi. He will also deliver an address on “India-Vietnam Relations and Regional Issues” at ICWA, New Delhi.
