Visit of Prime Minister of Bhutan, Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay to India (August 30 to September 4, 2013)

The Prime Minister of Bhutan, His Excellency Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay will be paying an official visit to India from August 30 to September 4, 2013. He will be accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Aum Tashi Doma, Foreign Minister H.E. Lyonpo Rinzin Dorje, and senior officials from the Royal Government of Bhutan. This is the first overseas visit by Prime Minister Tobgay after being elected Prime Minister, following the second democratic elections in Bhutan in July 2013. The visit is in conformity with the tradition of regular exchange of visits at the highest levels between India and Bhutan, and adds momentum to our time-tested and enduring relations.

H.E. Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay’s programme includes calls on President and Vice President, and a meeting followed by lunch with the Prime Minister. He is meeting the Chairperson UPA, External Affairs Minister, Finance Minister, Home Minister, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, National Security Adviser and the Foreign Secretary. He will have a joint meeting with our three apex business chambers Assocham, FICCI and CII. He will also visit Hyderabad on September 3, 2013 where he will visit the CII Green Business Centre and the IT Park at Madhapur; and meet the Hon’ble Governor of AP.

During the visit, all areas of mutual interest including our political, security, developmental, economic and cultural cooperation, will be discussed.
