Third Meeting of the India-Bangladesh Joint Consultative Commission

The Third India-Bangladesh Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) Meeting co-chaired by the External Affairs Minister of India and the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh is scheduled to be held in New Delhi on September 20, 2014. Mr. Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, Hon’ble Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, will lead a high level delegation to India for this meeting.

The JCC was constituted under the Framework Agreement on Cooperation for Development signed during the visit of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to Bangladesh in September 2011. The first meeting of the JCC was held in New Delhi in May 2012 and the second in Dhaka in February 2013.

The forthcoming JCC meeting will focus on review of progress on initiatives in various sectors of the relationship, identify thrust areas and give directions for further growth of the bilateral partnership.

During his stay in India, the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh will call on the Hon’ble President of India and Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. He is also scheduled to have separate meetings with various members of the Indian Cabinet.
