Shri V. Muraleedharan, the minister of state for foreign affairs, paid Sri Lanka a visit from February 3 to 4, 2023

Shri V. Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, is traveling to Colombo at the invitation of the Sri Lankan government to take part in the celebrations for the country’s’s 75th Independence Day, which falls on February 4, 2023.

The minister of state will also have separate bilateral discussions about topics of interest with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister H. E. Mr. U. M. Ali Sabry and President Heni Wickremesinghe during the visit. Additionally, he will engage in a discussion with well-known Indian Diaspora figures.

You may recall that India and Sri Lanka’s’s diplomatic ties were established 75 years ago this year. Sri Lanka plays a significant role in India’s’s “Neighbourhood First” policy and is its close neighbor and friend. India is steadfast in its commitment to support Sri Lankans in their quest for economic growth, prosperity, and recovery.
