Addressing Technology Geopolitics at the 2023 Global Technology Summit
The eighth Global Technology Summit( GTS) will take place in New Delhi between December 4 and 6, 2023, in India. The summit, which will be co-hosted by Carnegie India, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Policy Planning& Research Division, will concentrate on the subject of “Geopolitics of Technology.”
Over 40 public sessions, including keynote addresses, ministerial speeches, panel discussions, book launches, and other related activities, will be held over the course of the three-day event at GTS-2023. The summit aims to delve into important questions about technology’s influence on geopolitics and policy issues related to emerging technologies with the participation of policymakers, industry experts, academics, technocrats from India and around the world.
Ministers and senior government representatives from nations like India, the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Lithuania, Brazil, and the European Union are among the anticipated 100 speakers and thousands of participants. Students and young professionals from India and the South Asian region will also participate in the summit as GTS Young Ambassadors.
Discussions about the geopolitical ramifications of technology, emerging and critical technologies, digital public infrastructure, export controls, data protection, innovation, and national security are among the main topics covered on the agenda. Dr. S. Jaishankar, India’s minister of foreign affairs, will give a speech during the inaugural session.
