The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation yesterday met with His Excellency Andres Bengtcén, non-resident Ambassador of Sweden to Guyana as a follow-up to the meeting held with His Excellency President Mohamed Irfaan Ali.

Minister Todd and Ambassador Bengtcén discussed several areas of mutual interest to advance and strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations between Guyana and Sweden including environment, agriculture, and training. Minister Todd also took the opportunity to update the Ambassador on the ongoing case of Guyana vs. Venezuela at the International Court of Justice and Guyana’s position which aligns with international law. Ambassador Bengtcén presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency President Mohamed Irfaan Ali on February 27, 2023.
