The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, today received a courtesy call from His Excellency Dr. Jürg Sprecher, Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Federal Council to Guyana. Accompanying the Ambassador was the Honorary Consul of Switzerland in Guyana, Mr. Dean Jackson.
Among areas of mutual cooperation discussed, agriculture was one of the main areas identified for continued collaboration between Guyana and Switzerland. Minister Todd took the opportunity to inform of the upcoming Agri Food and Investment Forum and Expo that Guyana will be hosting soon. In addition, the Foreign Minister also alluded to Guyana’s bid to host the 38th Session of the Food and Agriculture Organization’s Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean (LARC38) in 2024.
The two sides agreed to continue strengthening cooperation towards advancing relations between Guyana and Switzerland.
