Presidents of Guyana, Ghana, Suriname and Barbados address Energy Conference- Guyana



His Excellency Dr Irfaan Ali spoke about Guyana’s sustainable development pathway and the country’s diversified non-oil resources, and their potential for exponential growth.

The President was one of four leaders who delivered addresses at the opening ceremony of the 2022 International Energy Conference and Expo- Guyana at the Marriott Hotel this morning.

President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo; Prime Minister of the Republic of Barbados, the Honourable Mia Amor Mottley and the President of the Republic of Suriname, His Excellency Chandrikapersad Santokhi, also delivered feature remarks.

After the speeches, First Lady Mrs Arya Ali and Prime Minister Mottley ceremoniously opened the conference with the cutting of the ribbon in the company of the other Heads of State. The leaders then took part in a walk-through exercise, where they visited booths by both local and international companies. Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d), the Honourable Mark Phillips, Vice President, the Honourable Dr Bharrat Jagdeo and several Cabinet Ministers are also at the event.

The four-day energy conference will also include presentations from global experts in the energy sector, including the Chairman of ExxonMobil, Darren Woods.
