The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, earlier today, met with His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Khaleel, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, on the margins of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM2022), in Kigali, Rwanda.
The two Ministers also spoke about Guyana’s and the Maldives engagement at the multilateral level including the United Nations and the Commonwealth.

Minister Todd and Minister Khaleel discussed matters of mutual interest to both countries including climate change, tourism, renewable energy, and international cooperation. Minister Todd also proposed that the two countries commence discussions on the possibility of collaborating and cooperating in the area of Climate Change as fellow Small Island Development States (SIDS).
