Their Excellency Dr Irfaan Ali underscored Guyana’s belief plus unwavering support for local integration during a Regional Safety Service (RSS) breakfast conference today at Ilaro Courtroom, Bridgetown, Barbados. The Head of State made the comments after handing over the document of ascension to the Chair of the Ministerial Council from the RSS, Prime Minister of Grenada, the Honourable Dickon Mitchell. “Guyana has always been, and continues to be, a regional player— we believe strongly in the area. Even before this morning, we have shown our full trust plus confidence in the RSS. ” President Ali emphasised that will Guyana’s decision to join the particular regional body is closely linked to its policies and developmental strategies. “I assure you that you can depend on our full support, and the region depends on us on becoming an active partner for advancement. ”President Ali was also acknowledged by the Prime Minister from the Republic of Barbados, the Honourable Mia Amor Mottley and the Prime Minister associated with St Vincent and the Grenadines, the Honourable Ralph Gonsalves for joining the regional organisation and for his unwavering support towards regional incorporation. Guyana’s Minister of International Affairs and International Assistance, the Honourable Hugh Todd and several of the country’s high-level security officials were also at the event.
