In his remarks, Mr. Shahid commended President Ali for creating the avenue to involve young people in the process of nation-building. “I am delighted that the President has provided this opportunity for the youth of Guyana to contribute to the nation now.” He also challenged Council members to ‘think outside the box”. Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation, the Honourable Hugh Todd; Guyana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Caroline Rodrigues, and the United Nations Resident Coordinator Yeşim Oruç, were also at the meeting.
