Guyana- Suriname Agreement Inked



Guyana and Suriname legally bonded their investment ideas with the signing of a bilateral cooperation agreement on the second day of the official visit by His Excellency Dr Irfaan Ali and his high-level team of Ministers to Paramaribo.

Foreign Ministers; The Honourable Hugh Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation- Guyana and H.E Albert R. Ramdin, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation- Suriname signed the Strategic Dialogue and Co-operation Platform Agreement.

His Excellency Dr Irfaan Ali, President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana and H.E. Chandrikapersad Santokhi, President of the Republic of Suriname established a Joint Investment Committee to oversee the interests of people from both countries. The bridging of the Corentyne River and re-establishing water transportation between the two nations, were also discussed.
