INFORMATION NOTE
The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation participated in the Fifteenth Special Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) on 16th & 17th, October 2021, in Miami, Florida, at the Consulate General of Jamaica.
The Minister was accompanied by Ambassador Elisabeth Harper, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The COFCOR discussed matters of critical importance to the Caribbean Community including the COVID-19 Pandemic, Climate Change and the upcoming 26th Meeting of the Conference of Parties (COP26) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to determine a common and strategic position; and the further strengthening and development of relations with various partners.
Minister Todd’s participation was in keeping with Guyana’s commitment to CARICOM, including the Community’s core pillar of foreign policy coordination with a view towards national and regional security and development.
