His Excellency Dr Irfaan Ali is attending the 102nd Special Meeting of the Council of Trade and Economic Development (COTED)-Agriculture. COTED promotes trade and economic development of CARICOM and oversees the operation of the Single Market and Economy.
Guyana currently holds lead responsibility for agriculture, agricultural diversification and food security in CARICOM and is spearheading the regional body’s quest of reducing its US$5b food import bill.
President Ali is joined by the Minister of Agriculture, the Honourable Zulfikar Mustapha; Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Honourable Hugh Todd; Foreign Secretary, Robert Persaud; Director of Projects at the Office of the President, Mrs Marcia Nadir-Sharma and other government officials.
