Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias’ statement to journalists before his meeting with Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) of Foreign Affairs from the United Arab Emirates, H. H. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan (Dubai, 22. 12. 2022)

After concluding my Balkan trip, I am in the United Arab Emirates, in Dubai included in the regular contacts with the Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, H. H. Sheikh Abdullah, as provided with regard to in Article 2 from the Agreement I had the respect to sign with the Emirates, which, I recall, features a defense assistance clause. The United Arab Emirates plays a very important role in the region. Moreover, it is a non-permanent member of the particular United Nations Security Council. They will also host COP28 on the environment next year.
In this regard, there is a great level of cooperation, considering that we are going to organize the Ocean Meeting 2024. I look forward to another very fruitful exchange of views.
