Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias’ statement following his meeting with the President of the Czech Republic, Miloš Zeman (Prague, 30.08.2022)

Aside from that, I had earlier been received by the President of the Senate and the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations of the Czech Republic. I also had the opportunity to exchange views on the current crisis, outline the Greek perspective on recent developments and inform them about what we, Greeks face in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias’ statement following his meeting with the President of the Czech Republic, Miloš Zeman (Prague, 30.08.2022)I had the honour of meeting the President of the Czech Republic, Mr. Zeman, and listening to his views on the great crisis Europe faces following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, on energy prices, and the problems of the European Union; I also informed him about the specific problems of our own region, the Eastern Mediterranean, and Turkish provocative conduct, Turkish revisionist views, which constitute a revisionist narrative to a degree similar to the revisionist narrative emanating from the Russian side.
Immediately afterwards, I will attend the Informal Meeting “Gymnich” of the EU Foreign Ministers. Its agenda will address, on the one hand, the issues arising from the Russian invasion of Ukraine – there will be a lunch tomorrow with the participation of the Ukrainian Foreign Minister and the Foreign Ministers of Moldova and Georgia. But, apart from that, we will also discuss issues relating to Africa, its relations with the EU, and generally the challenges Europe faces as winter approaches.
