Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostas Fragkogiannis’ visit to Kuwait (16-17. 01. 2023)

On Monday night, Mr. Fragogiannis and Mister. Georgiadis inaugurated the exhibit Alexander the Great, Bridging East and West, by Warlamis. The event was attended by dozens of entrepreneurs from Kuwait and Greeks operating in the area. At the opening of the exhibit – an initiative of Ambassador Konstantinos Piperigos – the internationally renowned mezzo-soprano Alexandra Gravas performed Greek and Arabic songs.
The delegation acquired previously visited the city’s national museum, which conspicuously displays findings from excavations on the ancient Greek island associated with Failaka, named after the Greek word “Fylakion” due to its tactical location, which Alexander the Great exploited.   Cooperation within the planning of the island’s promotion of culture and travel and leisure development was requested during the meeting with the Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce. Two Greek archaeological expeditions have already been performed on the island, while other countries are currently carrying out archaeological expeditions.
Deputy Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Openness Kostas Fragkogiannis and Minister of Development and Expenditure Adonis Georgiadis held successive meetings with prominent Kuwaiti entrepreneurs and officials from the country’s new government during their working visit to Kuwait upon January 16 and seventeen, 2023.
Talks focused on the enhancement of relations between the two nations and the preparation of a Combined Inter-ministerial meeting to draw up an agenda of issues concerning both the Kuwaiti business world plus Greek entrepreneurs seeking to broaden their activities in the Arabian Peninsula.
