Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis’ meeting with the Prime Minister of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev (Skopje, 15.10.2021)

Bilateral relations between Greece and North Macedonia, including the consistent implementation of the Prespa Agreement, the deepening of economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as the European perspective of North Macedonia and the Western Balkans, were, among other issues, the focus of the meeting today in Skopje between the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis and the Prime Minister of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev.

The Alternate Minister stressed the need for full, consistent and faithful implementation of the Prespa Agreement as a necessary condition to further strengthen relations between Greece and North Macedonia and in order to realize the common vision for the accession of North Macedonia into the European family.

Both sides reaffirmed the excellent level of bilateral relations between the two countries. The talks focused on economic issues, investment, energy issues, as well as regional developments and the management of the COVID-19 pandemic.
