Ghana and Malta to Enhance Assistance

On his part, Hon. Dr . Ian Borg expressed Malta’s commitment to strengthening the already existing relations between Ghana plus Malta by commissioning the very first Malta High Commission within Sub-Saharan Africa, in Accra. He reiterated Malta’s commitment in cooperating with Ghana in areas of mutual attention.
The officials who signed the MoUs on behalf of Ghana were Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the particular Minister for Youth plus Sports Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey acknowledged the commitment of the Govt of Malta in deepening diplomatic relations between the two countries by commissioning the Malta High Commission in Accra, the first in Sub-Saharan Africa. Ghana’s Foreign Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) also encouraged members from the business delegation who followed Hon. Dr . Ian Borg on the visit to explore opportunities of the 1 . 3 billion market of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). She commended the Government of Malta for extending scholarship or grant opportunities to Ghanaians and the donation of 135 thousand dosages of vaccines to Ghana at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The two countries produced the commitment when the Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) for Foreign, European Matters and Trade of Malta, Hon. Dr . Ian Borg called on Ghana’s Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) for Foreign Affairs plus Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey on Thurs 19 th January, 2023 in Accra.
At the end of the particular meeting, Ghana and The island of malta signed four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). The MoUs were the Agreed Mins of the 3 rd Session of the Permanent Joint Commission just for Cooperation (PJCC), Youth plus Sports Development, Fishery Assistance, and Inter-governmental agreement for your mutual recognition of Higher Education Degrees, Diplomas and Accreditation.
Ghana and Malta have renewed their commitment to enhance assistance for the mutual benefit of individuals of the two countries.
