FOREIGN MINISTER OF TÜRKIYE PAYS OFFICIAL VISIT TO GHANA

Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey took the opportunity to encourage the Türkish Business Community to explore investment opportunities in areas such as agriculture, manufacturing, technology and energy sectors to boost the economic trade relations between the two countries. She also urged the Business Community to take advantage of the large market of 1.3 billion people offered by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), to increase bilateral and intra- Africa trade, with Ghana as the entry point.
During the meeting, the two Foreign Ministers recalled various high-level visits undertaken between Ghana and Türkiye which have contributed to the strengthening of the existing bonds of friendship and cooperation, both at the bilateral and multilateral levels. They also recognised the need to further deepen economic ties, bilateral trade as well as cooperation on issues relating to peace and security.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey held bilateral talks with her Türkish counterpart, H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Cavu?o?lu, on Wednesday 26th October, 2022 to discuss issues of mutual interests. The Türkish Foreign Minister is on a three-country visit to Ghana, Senegal and Benin.
On his part, the Türkish Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Cavu?o?lu commended Ghana’s role on the United Nations Security Council and indicated his country’s readiness to cooperate with the Government of Ghana for mutual benefit and contribute to the deepening of the existing good relations between the two countries. He also commended Ghana’s Foreign Minister for her stupendous participation and contribution in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in March 2022 in Türkey.
