Presidency of the Council of the EU,

Consumer affairs and public health, Research and innovation,

OneNeurology EU summit – held under the auspices of the Slovenian EU Presidency – is organized as part of the OneNeurology initiative, co-funded by the European Federation of Neurological Associations and European Academy of Neurology. It was set up to counteract the burden of neurological disorders which are the third leading cause of deaths in the EU.

To address this burden, a 10-year global action plan on neurological disorders will be adopted by WHO in 2022. All EU states supported the development of the plan and the Summit will discuss how we can best prepare for its coordinated EU implementation, in alignment with the EU4Health Programme where neurological disorders were identified as one of the NCD priority areas. In particular, the event will look at the plan’s main target: development of national neurological strategies in all EU countries and how EU instruments can facilitate creation of those plans.
