Agriculture and Fisheries Council, Monday 15 November

Agriculture and fisheries ministers will meet in Brussels this month to adopt conclusions on the new EU forest strategy for 2030.

Foreign Affairs Council (Foreign Affairs and Defence), Monday 15 November

The Foreign Affairs Council will hold a joint session with foreign affairs and defence ministers during which it will exchange views on the first draft of the Strategic Compass.

General Affairs Council (Cohesion), Thursday 18 November

The Council will hold a policy debate on the contribution of Cohesion Policy to the recovery, competitive sustainability, green and digital transition, resilience and economic, social and territorial cohesion.

Foreign Affairs Council (Development), Friday 19 November

The Foreign Affairs Council (Development) meeting will discuss Water in External Action, with a focus on Central Asia. In the margins of the meeting, development ministers will informally exchange with Samantha Power, Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development.

General Affairs Council, Tuesday 23 November

The preparations for the European Council on 16-17 December 2021, the Enlargement and Stabilisation and Association process, the EU – UK relations and the rule of law annual dialogue will be on the agenda of the General Affairs Council.

Competitiveness Council, Thursday 25 and Friday 26 November

On Thursday, ministers responsible for the internal market and industry will be focusing on the digital services act and the digital markets act, as well as on the implementation of the recovery plan for Europe.

On Friday morning, research ministers will aim to adopt conclusions on the future governance of the European Research Area, as well as a Council recommendation on a pact for research and innovation in Europe. In the afternoon, ministers for space will debate ‘New Space’ and aim to adopt conclusions on ‘space for everyone’.
