Foreign Affairs Council (Development)

The Foreign Affairs Council is made up of foreign ministers from all EU member countries. It is responsible for the EU’s external action, which includes foreign policy, defence and security, trade, development cooperation and humanitarian aid.

This Council meets every month and its composition may vary depending on the agenda:

  • defence ministers (common security and defence policy)
  • development ministers (development cooperation)
  • trade ministers (common commercial policy)
