European youth conference: Participation of young people in political processes and decision-making locally, regionally, nationally and at European level

This conference is jointly organised by Instituto Português do Desporto e da Juventude, I.P. (Portuguese Sport and Youth Institute) and the National Youth Council, under the patronage of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU, as part of the 8th cycle of the EU Youth Dialogue – ‘Europe and youth, youth and Europe: a space for democracy and participation’.

At the same time, there will also be a hackathon on digital participation with and for young people from the 27 EU countries, which will result in a prototype for a tool linked to the European Youth Portal.

Policymakers, young people and stakeholders will meet to reflect on and discuss the development and implementation of youth policies. Young people have the opportunity to inform and influence the people making decisions about the problems that affect them.
