UN Secretary General criticizes the inclusion of Cuba in the list of sponsors of terrorism

United Nations, February 1, 2021. UN Secretary General António Guterres hopes that the new US administration will consider rescinding Cuba’s inclusion on Washington’s unilateral list of countries that promote terrorism, Cubaminrex reported.

According to the spokesman for the head of the UN, Stéphane Dujarric, Guterres expressed to the permanent representative of Cuba before the international organization, Pedro Luis Pedroso, his disagreement with the inclusion of the island in that relationship. Earlier this week, on January 26, the Secretary General and the Cuban Ambassador had a meeting in which they addressed the matter.

The permanent representative of Cuba to the UN pointed out, on several occasions, that our nation rejects terrorist actions in any of its forms and manifestations, in particular State terrorism, as one of the foreign policy principles contained in the Constitution.
