Communiqué of the Chairman of the
THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING Condemning the Inclusion of Cuba in the Unilateral List of State Sponsors of Terrorism by the United States of America
- The THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING condemns the inclusion of the Republic of Cuba in the unilateral List of State Sponsors of Terrorism of the Department of State of the United States of America, as announced on January 11, 2021.
- The THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING values the work of Cuba in the field of Health and Education with the international community, promoting and implementing international solidarity and cooperation as a valuable member of the UN, and its efforts to improve its socio-economic development in the midst of a fierce US economic blockade. Such a unilateral drastic step affects the development gains it has achieved with good international diplomacy and internal governance system.
- The THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING reiterates that terrorism in any form is unacceptable an any such acts, by whomever, against whomsoever committed, including those in which States are directly or indirectly involved, which are unjustifiable, and in this context reaffirms the support for the provisions contained in General Assembly resolution 46/51 of 9 December 1991 and other relevant United Nations resolutions.
- The THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING looks forward to the new US administration taking the necessary actions to normalize the relationship with Cuba.
